Unsung Angels is a community-based organization dedicated to making a positive impact on the lives of youth and preventing gun violence.
Our organization was founded with the aim of honoring the memory of Jamyla Bolden, a young life lost tragically due to gun violence. Inspired by her story, we are committed to creating safer communities and empowering young individuals through our programs and initiatives.
Our mission is to prevent gun violence among youths aged 12-18 through mentorship, education, and community engagement.
We believe that by providing mentorship, fostering supportive relationships, and offering educational opportunities, we can empower young individuals to make positive choices and become agents of change in their communities.

The Unsung Angels Youth Gun Prevention Mentoring Program is one of our flagship initiatives. Through this program, we connect young individuals with caring and dedicated mentors from the community. These mentors are passionate about gun violence prevention and are committed to supporting and guiding youth on their journey towards a brighter future. We carefully match mentors with mentees based on shared interests, backgrounds, and experiences, ensuring a strong and meaningful connection.
Our program offers a range of components to support the holistic development of program participants. We provide educational workshops and seminars on gun violence prevention, conflict resolution, trauma healing, and nonviolent communication. Additionally, we offer skill-building activities that promote personal growth, resilience, leadership, and positive decision-making.
Healing circles and support groups are an integral part of our program, providing a safe and empathetic space for participants to share their experiences, process their emotions, and heal from the impact of gun violence. We also emphasize community outreach and advocacy, collaborating with local organizations, schools, and community leaders to raise awareness, engage in dialogue, and work towards positive change.
